2020 APACHE Homeschool Convention

Homeschool Convention Committee Openings

APACHE is in need of several volunteers for the 2020 Convention Committee. We currently have openings for the following positions:

  • Chairperson
  • Assistant Chairperson
  • Sponsorship Coordinator
  • Vendor Coordinator
  • Marketing Coordinator
  • Additional Committee Members

We ask you to prayerfully consider filling one of these openings. We cannot host the APACHE Convention without a great team of volunteers to plan it! If you have questions or would like more information, please contact the specific person listed below.
 

Chairperson & Assistant Chairperson

The Chairperson coordinates and schedules and leads monthly convention meetings, keeps meetings on track, and sends out reminders to convention committee members. We are seeking an Assistant Chairperson to help and fill in as Chairperson as needed. Typical time commitment includes 3-4 hours a month. Sponsorship Coordinator

This is a great way to build relationships in the community! Responsibilities include ordering convention bags, building and maintaining relationships with current and future businesses and organizations that provide services and goods to the homeschooling community, coordinating radio spots with local radio stations, and promoting sponsor packages.The previous sponsor coordinator has created a seamless sponsor package that works well and runs smoothly. Ninety percent of the work is done through email and generally requires 1-2 hours a week. If you enjoy talking to others about homeschooling this is a great opportunity. Vendor Coordinator

Responsible for identifying and inviting vendors and exhibitors, communicating regularly with them, and arranging the vendor layout at the convention. In general, the role requires about 30-60 minutes of work per week for much of the planning season and more concentrated work in the weeks leading up to convention. In addition to role-specific activities, there are monthly convention committee meetings to attend. Anyone interested can contact Amanda Bachman at APACHE.vendors@gmail.com who will mentor for the planning season leading up to the 2020 convention.

Marketing Coordinator

Responsible for providing convention information to established marketing venues (libraries, co-ops, regional homeschooling groups, churches, media, etc.) and exploreing new opportunities to get brochures out to interested families. Additional Committee Members

If you would like to offer input and help make some of the decisions for the 2020 convention, we need you! Time commitment consists of 1 meeting a month. Meet new people, help encourage the local homeschool community, and have an active part in what the Apache 2020 convention has to offer.
